Game is about territory control.
1/2 is territory gain, which means you are killing NPC's
the other 1/2 is about defending the territory you have, which is about killing players
It is amazing how many people completely ignore half of the game.

The biggest problem with AB is it's too much capping centric. You have the mob of one side just running around behind the mob of the other side capping and recapping and nobody breaking off to double cap or triple cap. I wish they would have at least one map that is combat only. Team with the most kills wins or just one shrine with the king of the hill type play like Myth had. That was my favorite. The one that held the hill the longest won. Some great battles in the Myth game with King of the Hill arena. AB is probably my least favorite though has the most players which I like.

Its pretty obvious people who call AB PvE have never done it for any good length of time, while it obviously isn't at the level of GvG, it really is an unfair comparison as the objectives, builds and tactics are pretty different from GvG or HA or whatever.
besides if all you do is kill NPCs you are doing something very wrong

this would be true if points were only obtained through territory control; however points are also gained through scoring kills, so i would put a slight emphasis on the importance of "territory defense", as you call it.

the general consensus for strategy in ab is to "avoid enemy confrontation"--not because it is more effective, but simply because its easier to do.

king of the hill would be interesting for the neutral map saltspray. i also think territorial control without npcs would be also interesting, though both might be prone to overly defensive builds. capzones would of course have to increase in size as to avoid purely aoe builds.
btw, sowrie for the thread hijack lol
to op: i would recommend introductions which include build set-ups. also since ab is a team game (omg it is?), i would also recommend going through the team setup. i've seen the sin vids before, and tbh look like you just went randomway.

just an update: the first commentated video is done. i'm encoding it as we speak, and it should show up on youtube later tonight. i still sound weird though, but there's nothing i can do about it.
this is one of those times where i wish i have a quadcore CPU instead of a dual core... video encoding on a budget class dual core is painfully slow, even if it is overclocked by a healthy amount.

It doesn't matter how many cores you have, this is the truth.

video encoding does get faster (as in, noticeably faster) with additional cores. i turned on multithreading in virtualdub and the encoding framerates almost doubled.
anyways, the video is up. view them in my channel, it's the latest two:
http://www.youtube.com/user/aliasmoriz
the focus of this video is more on the general strategies i used in an earlier video of my warrior. there isn't much said about the mechanical execution aspects, purely because there wasn't any time (and i played quite badly anyways, so there's nothing much to see in that regard).

if anyone is willing to take me into a gvg match and allow me to record, then i'll post them (HINT HINT!!!). i don't have time to commit full time into a gvg guild at the moment, unfortunately.
